If you’re a “liker” of the SBBH Facebook page, or a follower on Twitter, you may have caught wind of a militant mood in the SBBH camp.
I’ve been spurred by a reader of SBBH to put an idea into action that’s been languishing on my To Do List. The gist is this: Apart from a small group of amazing small-cup specialists, mostly online, lingerie stores and departments do not give women with small-busts the choice they deserve in sophisticated, fashionable lingerie.
But what can we DO about it? The answer: campaign for lingerie retailers to represent the needs of Every Body, through the “Every Body Loves Lingerie” campaign.
How can you take part in the campaign?
Ever been in a store and tutted and tssked your way round the lingerie department because you can’t find a bra in an AA-cup size? If you have, it’s time to stop walking away feeling dejected — and take up your right to more lingerie choice. All you have to do is print off this ready-made campaign letter — Every Body Loves Lingerie. If you have any difficulty downloading the file, please contact me. Once you have the letter you can present it to stores offering inadequate small-cup bra choice in either of these ways:
- Take it to a member of staff in the customer service department, or the lingerie department. If you’re feeing brave, ask them to forward the letter to the person at head office responsible for lingerie buying.
- Post the letter to the lingerie buyer at the store’s head office. If you can get their name, so much the better.
- Cut and paste the text of the letter and email it to the lingerie buyer at head office.
If you don’t know who to send your campaign letter to, comment on this blog post and let me know which store is failing you — and I will try to find out who best to contact.
If you’re on Twitter and you want to urge a retailer to stock small-cup bras, you could tweet them directly, using the hashtag #EveryBodyLovesLingerieKeep in touch
Comment on this blog post to let me know if you’ve printed the letter and handed it over to a store — I want to know who should be representing AA-cups better, the world over.Spread the word

Happy campaigning!

[...] This, and the many desperate calls of SBBH readers for better choice in lingerie that fits, has spurred me to launch the Every Body Loves Lingerie Campaign. [...]
While I’m not a smaller breasted lady (more like a fat old guy), I do know ladies who may be interested in this campaign and I posted it on my Facebook page! I wonder what sort of response I’ll get….
Awesome initiative! I’ve been feeling this and sometimes complaining about this for years! I am so glad you’ve taken the step to actually create action around it!
Thank You! Great web site with many wonderful links. Keep up the good work. I’m a SBBH woman and I love my body shape just the way it is! We deserve fair and equal representation in the lingere department!
Thank you for the great links to find bras — pretty ones that actually fit a SBBH gal. The campaign is a great idea — I will print the letter and gat it to a few store’s buyers. I also will post on FB. Keep up the great work!
[...] and House of Fraser? If so, perhaps you’d like to read about (& take part in) my Every Body Loves Lingerie [...]
this is great that you took this to action. it’s so hard, even online sometimes, to find good-looking lingerie in an aa-cup bra. it’s really shocking.
I will so definitely do this to ALL the bra shops in my area that don’t have great size-aa bra bras.
Awesome idea! I have to buy bras in the little girl’s department, and I’m 24 freaking years old! I would just die if any store around here actually carried an adult bra in my size, and I don’t just mean lingerie stores, I mean Walmart too.
I love that someone’s speaking out for us small breasted women! It’s only since having my children that my boobs seem to have disappeared and I often feel so alone as everywhere caters for huge boobs! I cried when a bra shop suggested I try a ‘starter’ bra for a 12 year old instead of something pretty and sexy!
