New haunt, but what new AA-cup styles will be on offer?

A new AA-bra online retailer… I clicked on the link to AABras with great excitement.  When I got there, I wasn’t disappointed.  It’s a lovely girly site, nicely designed, and it immediately tempted me in.

My cursor danced over the menu and plumped for the “Pretty” section… because every small-busted woman knows that an easy-on-the-eye AA-cup bra is the lingerie Holy Grail.

Small-cup ladies, if you’ve been chasing that impossible dream, I did find styles on AABras that might do the trick.  A small collection of Lula Lu bras are stocked, only available in the US until now, including the rather lovely lace Natasha bra.

There are also some cute styles from Panache Atlantic and Itty Bitty Bra, such as the Jerry bra and the polka dot Couture bra.  But these bras, while great, are mentally filed in my “The Usual Suspects” AA-lingerie closet… They aren’t that new.

The “Pretty” section of the site also includes striking bras by Ultimo and By Caprice, available in A-cup (not AA), a selection of Boobs & Bloomers lingerie for teenage AA-cup girls, and a wide range of gel bras, which duplicate the collection stocked at MaxCleavage (owned by the same people as AABras).

I have to admit I was disappointed to find that no new treasures had been discovered.  And that the ranges available fall into the same divisions that we have come to expect from the AA-cup offering across the board:  Gel mega-boosting bras that assume we little-chested ladies aspire to have more-up-top, teenage bras and pretty-but-not-exactly-sexy bras.

What I am learning from the lovely readers of this blog is that there are a lot of small-busted women who want something very different: Lingerie that is designed for body confident, fashion-loving women (who happen to have a flat chest).  Now, a website that was dedicated to selling lingerie just for these women, that would be something.  No teen bras, no oomphalumpa bras… Just beautifully fitted, fashionable, sophisticated lingerie for the little chested.

Should I dream on….?

Maybe AAbras.com is still on the case… In the “About Us” section of the site, it says “Please bear with us whilst we find more bras and more choice for you”… If that Holy Grail is out there, let’s hope AAbras.com can find it.

One Response to “Déjà vu at the new AA-bra shopping spot”

I enjoyed reading your article. I am a small busted woman, who has faced many of the same challenges of my fellow fashion loving women.

I was inspired to design my own line of lingerie for small busted women. There are a lot of lingerie sites for larger busted women, and there are starting to be more companies catering to bras for the smaller bust which is great! My goal is to offer lingerie for the petite busted women who embrace their natural beauty and wish to celebrate it.

We are still in our infancy and a few of our first designs are being manufactured with a release date of later in the year. I have several other designs I am currently working on. There will be a mix of some that are sheer, some with underwire and some with light padding. I realize as a small chested woman, not everyone wants the “mega gel” type look and my goal is to offer sexy lingerie that highlights the women’s feminine side.

Until we are ready to launch our line, we are offering a few lines that I hand picked that while not made for small busted women, I felt they would be flattering to the smaller chest. Stay tuned!
